RYAM was created as an independent, publicly traded company on June 27, 2014 through a spin-off from Rayonier Inc. (NYSE:RYN).  We trace our roots back to 1926 when the company was originally formed as Rainier Pulp and Paper.  You can find a more complete history on our website.
RYAM is a global leader of cellulose-based technologies, which comprise a broad offering of high purity cellulose specialties, a natural polymer commonly used in the production of specialty chemicals and polymers for use in producing liquid crystal displays, filters, textiles and performance additives for pharmaceutical, food and other industrial applications. Starting from a tree and building upon more than 95 years of experience in cellulose chemistry, we provide high quality high-purity cellulose pulp products that make up the essential building blocks for our customers’ products while providing exceptional service and value. We also produce unique, lightweight paperboard and a bulky, high-yield pulp for use in consumer products.
Our primary customers are chemical and specialty chemical companies that use our products as a component in their manufacturing processes. Additionally, we serve the pulp and packaging markets with a variety of pulp and paper grades. We’ve enjoyed long relationships with our customers, some who have been working with the company for over 95 years.
Our headquarters are located in Jacksonville, Florida. We operate across the globe with manufacturing operations in US, Canada and France and sales offices in China, Japan and UK.
RYAM employs approximately 2,500 full time employees.
Our fiscal year ends on December 31 and our fiscal quarters end on the last Saturday of each calendar quarter.
The company does not currently pay a regular dividend.
A list of our Board of Directors and their biographies is accessible in the Corporate Governance section of the Investor Relations page on our website.
